The Brief approached me to update their current site to a modern looking responsive website. The site provides quotes via three call to actions, one per type of removal. The content and structure of the site was to remain mostly the same, with updates required to the branding. The website held strong positions in Google, so it was vital that this remained the case with the additional benefit of being mobile friendly. The latest optimisation practices were to be implemented to achieve a fast and user-friendly website.

The Process

We began with the Research & Discovery phase by looking at other websites which used strong call to action areas to promote getting a quote, discussing what solution would work best for We then progressed to exploring layout options using wireframe sketches. This was a great way to visually understand what content elements of the current site should remain, and which should be modified to work most effectively across multiple devices.

During the design phase I created two visuals. We experimented with different colour options which would compliment the existing orange, along with the creation of icons, map area graphics and the development of the logo to fit with the new modern look.

We continued to have regular discussions during the build of the site to achieve the strongest outcome. The site was built on the Perch CMS, where a training session over Skype was given. can update the website, editing and adding new content.

The website scored highly in Google Page Speed tests and retained its high position in search rankings, gaining the Mobile Friendly status.
